Immolation - (2002) Unholy Cult [.flac]

Immolation may be one of the best and genre defining death metal bands out there. Their approach on anti religious theme goes way beyond senseless babbling of Satan, Lucifer and whatever the hell it has been synonymous with. Beginning with Dawn of Possession and Here in After, Ross Dolan and co brought forward even more mayhemic ferocity that later became a staple of their execution, both in studio and on stage. On Unholy Cult, they once again proved to the masses that death metal might not always need to grow too big; instead of embellishing their handicraft with unnecessary ornament, Immolation insisted that their style should retain tonnes of originality packed with unlimited surprises. Preceded by critically acclaimed Close to a World Below, Unholy Cult grabbed Immolation's fans by the throat. Its unparalleled heaviness never ceased to amaze perhaps even the most seasoned metallers among us. This album deserved a perfect score for perfection is what made up the whole of Unholy Cult.
