Yes. It's Impiety again. Now a trio, Shyaithan and co. have spewed forth another epic abomination onto the face of the Earth entitled Ravage & Conquer. Upon its release, I immediately contacted a friend of mine for details of purchase. For RM60 I'd say it is worth your hard earned bucks. Mine is the Limited Asian Decimation Tour Edition (first press) with different back card color and layout. As usual, I support Impiety for their endeavors. This is pure evil in its most sophisticated form. Here we have a couple of elements brought together in a form of mini CD with full title 'Advent of the Nuclear Baphomet'. Each song follows the style previously heard on Worshippers of the Seventh Tyranny so I'd say this EP is more like a B-side of the latter. Perhaps these songs could have made it onto said album but since Impiety decided to play progressive at length never before witnessed in their career, they might as well pressed another CD. Luckily, this little gem was made available through a distro at Eastern Voice Production for a price of RM50. Not bad though. At least I'm supporting the band and bought their release with my hard earn bucks!
The first full length debut from Singapore's most prolific anti - religious - goat - barbaric entity mighty Impiety. After releasing at least three demos (one which existence remained hazy to this day) and one EP, Shyaithan and his fellow barbarians moved forward to record their debut Asateerul Awaleen. The Arabic title has left many to speculate that it actually refers to pre - Islamic tales, a reference to jahiliyah era (the age of sheer ignorance according to the history of Arab) which can also be found from a passage in Holy Quran. However, let not the title fool you; this album does not praise religion but a complete decimation of the latter and total praise to horned Master of Eternal Fire. Being brave enough to adopt the most vilified pseudonym in the history of Southeast Asian black metal, Shyaithan (born Muhammad Khairul Ariffeen Deen) together with his team of sworn blasphemers managed to put out one of the best underground records to ever come out from this region. The riffs are completely amazing and ritualistic, evident of rich traditional touch that greatly differs from their contemporaries such as As Sahar and most Norwegian imitators. The studio trick may have done a good job at rendering Shyaithan's vocal totally demonic and possessed. He sounds a lot like the devil himself. The production is quite tinny and as such has made the guitar sounds akin to a bee buzzing around your head. Only this time it is far more crystal clear and vibrant. Luckily, the album allows sufficient room for Leprophiliac Rex to contribute his resonating bass lines and they actually stand out from start to finish. Another amazing aspect of this atheistically Satanic masterpiece is the drums played by Iblyss. He knows how to fill in the gaps with awesome cymbals work, accurate mid paced blast beats and even simplistic yet effective double bass attack as exemplified in Anal - Madonna and Divine Hutamahan Frostfuck (way for a title). Especially on the latter, he alternates between ride, crash and bell with unthinkable perfection. This adds even more wider spectrum of marksmanship for Impiety as a whole. Furthermore, the third track is known for its creative use of acoustic guitar strumming which is highly surprising yet enjoyable because it does fit with the song. A re-recorded version of Magick - Consecration Goatsodomy also made its appearance on this album among others. The only difference here is Shyaithan vocal in which he no longer employs throaty growls reminiscent of Beherit, Archgoat and Blasphemy. Instead, he eschew the aforementioned style and replaced it with a pair of lungs borrowed from Lucifer himself. No kidding.

I really hate to be the person who couldn't get albums from my favorite bands. Impiety and this album being the one. Many a friend rushed to get their hands on this precious digipack with me stood watching in despair. At the time of its release, I was running low on funds since I already cashed in for their previous two albums. However, I still am hoping that this album will be reissued soon. Although it doesn't break new ground but according to Impiety themselves, this is something completely different from what they have done in the past and as such, listening to this album in one sit requires immense patience and determination. If you are the kind of person who dislikes elephant ass - epic track length then Worshippers of the Seventh Tyranny will immediately become your worst nightmare! On this digipack (sniff... sniff... why did you leave me?), the 38 minute 32 second majestic anti humankind assault is divided into VII parts altogether. Obviously this is to compensate for slow, near - doom pace that the band have to perform in order to save their stamina. Well, logically Impiety aren't up to play 38 minutes of constant blast beats and ungodly riff charge as can be heard on Terroreign (Apocalyptic Armageddon Command). If they do, then Impiety must be one of the craziest, most insane blackened deathrash metal band on this planet! There are a lot of elements being introduced into their song writing, with Shyaithan now paying new assassins to execute putrid holocaust of mankind, the solos are more distinctively melodic with more palette of colors on drums. Other than its out - of - proportion duration, Shyaithan also experimented with different vocal styles rather than constantly vomiting forth blaspheme that most fans are familiar with. The vocal as a whole is clear and intelligible enough that one doesn't really need to look up what he is actually singing. Elements of contemporary thrash riffing addled with black metal aesthetics quickly gained prominence on this epic offering. Fans might as well get hooked in their flesh with this album. The only thing that seems to be problematic for a lot of people is its ridiculous length. Again, patience is all you need to fully appreciate this uncompromisingly arrogant piece of art.
How many times have Impiety come out with strong releases over the years? The answer is each time they put out a record, it's going to be brutal and uncompromising as Goatfather Shyaithan refused to write songs that are melodic which can be a wankery at once. Boasting one of the most profound records ever released through Osmose Productions, Kaos Kommand 696 proved to be another landmark in the band's career two years into the millennium. With ultra blistering speed and Shyaithan's vocals greatly improving, this album is a must have for longtime fans. Newcomers be warned; you will not find anything close to now wimp out Cradle of Filth and its closest cousin from Norway Dimmu Borgir. No. Go look somewhere else if you're searching for the latter both. The style picks up where Skullfucking Armageddon left off with further refined song structure, solid riffing and more varied drumming. Seconds after you allow this record spinning in your stereo, you will be greeted with a picture of mass congregation praying in a church being mercilessly massacred by armies of Satanic militia using Fabrique Nationale M249 Squad Automatic Weapon. Bodies of Christian believers lying strewn and bloodied, riddled with bullet holes are just the kind of images that immediately come to mind when listening to Christfuckingchrist. The band would later remain adhere to this style; unrelenting mixtures of black, death and thrash metal all at once. Session members come and go but only the Goatfather Shyaithan himself stays throughout the entire course of mighty Impiety abominable career. He went on to become one of the most successful in the forefront of blackened deathrash metal arena. This version comes with two bonus tracks.
Impiety have a long history behind them. With the release of Skullfucking Armageddon, the band changed their style and aesthetic reminiscent of early Sarcófago as well as Canadian black war Blasphemy. These two bands have influenced Impiety on a larger scale and as such its presence can be felt on this album as well as their previous releases. It is thrash as it is black with a touch of death. Therefore, there is certainly multiple elements being mixed into this release. Somehow they are able to merge into one formidable force of warring blasphemy and occultic summoning of diabolical arts. These elements would later see another execution on Kaos Kommand 696. Among the stand out tracks are Ironflames of Hate, Diabolical Witching Aggression and of course the ever headbangable Torment in Fire. The latter brings Sacrifice to come into picture.
