Deicide - (1992) Legion [.flac]

The term death metal was quite hazy back then. Approaching the 90s, many metal bands playing fast and extreme form of music known to mankind branched into various subgenres. Fans came up with their own terminology, rationale and standards over what actually defined a certain genre within the dawn of extreme metal milieu. Immolation, Suffocation and Death were among those big yet humble names that paved a whole new path for countless of imitators to come. Somewhere in between, Deicide came into being, fronted by the ever notorious Glen Benton who repeatedly branded an inverted cross into his forehead. The band eponymous debut retained much a mixture of death / thrash metal. However, their musicianship later evolved into even more brutal and unmerciful spells of destruction with the release of Legion. Possibly the best Deicide album of all time, Legion was packed with furious speed unmatched by any other death metal bands that came before and after them during the height of their career. Ever blasphemous and Satanic, this is the album that you sure don't want to miss.
