Rust Sakaraz - (1996) Bloodwarhate [Demo]

Yet another death metal band from Brunei Darussalam. A relatively well known entity, Rust Sakaraz is first established back in 1995 at times where metal maintains its cult underground status. The band are fronted by Aslan who is widely believed to have been involved with a series of other side projects including The Mystikal East [sic] and Sahujja'Achra. Several others who come to assist him A.D on bass, Repertuar brandishing all guitars whereas Rasckal is hired as bass - assassin for numerous sessions.

The sound of this release allegedly harkens back to early work of Silent Death. Perhaps due to years of being kept in archive, the tape quality has degraded over time and this has somehow made the inferior sound even more gritty. 'The Death Incarnate' showcases acoustic driven intro backed by trembling bass which would later be recycled for 'Black Magic Velvet (Neurasthenia)'. As acoustic tranquility fades away, ear drilling guitars come forth to bring total destruction and cataclysm coupled with Aslan deathly vocals which make the second song as one of the best on this demo. It is no doubt that each man behind this project is truly talented. They know their music very well although there are moments where one can clearly aware of sloppy performance, most notably the drum fills. However, mistake is what made Bloodwarhate truly alive. It is raw and uncompromisingly promising unlike any other mainstream rock bands in Brunei who have their songs edited digitally in the studio just so they would sound great to braindead masses. Neither do Aslan and co. boast about where they did record this tape because they feel no need to do so. In all honesty, this is the type of music, sort of an art in its very primal form with embodiment of living souls housed into it. No one can dispute its originality and the creativity that each member has contributed is way out of question.

P/s: The ...Outro is strongly reminiscent of Peter Jackson 92' horror flick Braindead. In case anyone didn't notice.
